Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS)

The Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS)  is a foundation of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University and is located on the natural science campus, Riedberg, in Frankfurt am Main. Its focus lies in interdisciplinary theoretical research in the natural sciences. FIAS has close collaborations with the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the J.W. Goethe-University and the Max Planck Institutes for Brain Research and Biophysics, providing established links to experimental and theoretical expertise.

FIAS is home to a dynamic and growing theoretical Neuroscience group and has collaborations with leading experimental and theoretical neuroscience experts across the world. In addition, Frankfurt itself has a long tradition of excellence in experimental neuroscience and theoretical physics. Thus, all the fields that our school touches on (experimental and theoretical neuroscience, theoretical physics) are well represented in Frankfurt.
