Sabine is presently a research fellow at the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies in Germany. Her research is supported by the Foundational Questions Institute and the Swedish Research Council. Her main research area is the phenomenology of physics beyond the standard model and quantum gravity. You find more details about her current and past research under Research.

Before taking on her present position in September 2009, Sabine was an assistant professor at Nordita, the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics, in Stockholm, Sweden. She did her postdoctoral research at the Department of Physics at the University of Arizona in Tucson, the University of California in Santa Barbara and the Perimeter Institute in Waterloo, Ontario. Sabine received her PhD in Physics from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany in 2003, and also holds a Bachelor's degree (vordiplom) in mathematics.

Since 2006, Sabine writes a blog called "Backreaction" that covers various topics in quantum gravity and high energy physics, and life in academia in general.
